1920's Inspired Outfits and Party Ideas

Hi everyone, so recently i have been going to a lot of sweet 16's and i just attended a 1920's themed one.
Ever since the Great Gatsby movie came out ive noticed a lot of Gatsby styled outfits and i wish i could of put this post up earlier so that you could have had some inspiration for Halloween so im sorry about that.
So here are some of my favorite outfits of the night modeled by my lovely friends.

This was by far my favorite outfit of the night, its so elegant and classy. The dress is from River Island (£70) and its so beautifully embellished with white beads from top to bottom. The fur cover up is from Monsoon children's section (£20) and its a light pink but it seems to have come up rather purple in the photo, the cover was the same colour as the dress.
She then added some costume jewelry which you can find anywhere to complete the look and lastly some satin gloves which she got on ebay.

This gorgeous dress was from Monsoon (£169) and you can have a look at it online here . This is a very classic dress which you could also wear to several other occasions. As the dress was very sparkly on its own she wore a small basic pearl necklace to dial it down a little with some red nails which stand out against the white dress which some might think is irrelevant but its the little things that make up an outfit.

If you don't want to completely go with the theme but still do at the same time i thought that this was perfect! Its also embellished with small beads all over which gives a great Gatsby vibe. This dress was from Miss Selfridge (£95) which you can buy here . This dress can also be worn to a wedding or any other formal occasion. She also accessorized it with some costume jewelry.

In case any of you are turning 16 and also would like to throw a 1920's themed birthday party here is some party inspiration. Everything at the party was so beautiful and well organised and was truly amazing.

The table was covered in jars of sweets with a label on the jar that had the name of the sweets in a vintage font. The best thing about this was that we weren't hungry for a moment as the amount of sweets was unlimited and they just didn't seem to finish. Her cake was so beautiful and not to mention delicious. It was a 2 layer light blue cake with gold around rim and the top layer decorated with a pearl necklace made out of icing.

The drinks cups were all piled on top of each other in a pyramid shape and so were the bottles of champagne. You could decorate the candle by putting a candle or any other vintage things lying around the house like here with a bird cage.

REAL TECHNIQUES CORE COLLECTION REVIEW

The thing I love about these brushes that they are synthetic taklon bristles, dense and they do not shed hair. They don't bleed any colour when you clean them. Most important thing for me when buying brushes is the shedding hair and how they blend on my skin. Another great thing is that they are super soft on my skin, I love it!

I like the idea that these can stand up, so I can stand them on my dressing table and looks pretty or I put them in my makeup pot and they stand up perfectly!

When using the brushes, they put the makeup on so effortlessly and flawless! I like the how fabulous they are and most the brushes are multitasking too! If you want to achieve a PRO finish without being an expert, these are the brushes you need!

YSL BABY DOLL MASCARA REVIEW

I am a really big fan of YSL, every product I have bought from YSL as been really good and just done exactly what I want it to do. You can't really fault YSL to be honest since the price of the products, they are not allowed to fault haha! Something that always attracts me to YSL is probably the gold packaging  its so beautiful and eye catching that i find it hard to leave the counter without at least something small.

Todays buy was the YSL 'Baby Doll' Mascara (£24.50) I actually went looking for this product mostly because the beautiful Cara Delevigne makes it very hard for you not to want it in her wonderful champagne for it.

Cara looks stunning as always but her lashes look so good here, at first i thought she got her makeup done professionally i doubt mine would look that way but when i tried it out at the counter they did!

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, if you know me you know i love anything gold; especially when it comes to makeup packaging. I love the simplicity and luxury look it has. What really stood out for me is the hot pink writing on it, it just looks so perfect with the gold and i just died when i saw it.
Now enough about the packaging and lets move on to the actual product.

The applicator wand is plastic which is usually what i like to go for as they're more firm and steady compared to a brush wand and helps you apply the content a lot more precisely and stops your lashes clumping together. I wouldn't use this mascara on a night out because i dont think that its dramatic enough when applied, this is going to be my go to mascara for the day time.
I know this is very weird to say about a mascara but strangely i really like the smell, its hard to actually explain what it smells like but next time you're at a YSL just give it a quick smell and im sure you will understand.
